Return & Refund Policy

The short version

Every InsideCalifornia product is printed to order. That means we don't keep inventory on shelves — your shirt, mug, or hat is made fresh the moment you order it. Because of that, we can't take returns for wrong size or change of mind. But if anything is wrong on our end, we'll fix it for free.

What qualifies for a free replacement

We'll replace any item, at no cost to you, within 30 days of delivery if you experience:

  • Misprinted, blurry, or visibly defective print
  • Manufacturing flaws (holes, stains, torn seams, damaged stitching)
  • Wrong item received (different product than what you ordered)
  • Wrong size on the tag vs. what you ordered
  • Package never delivered (we'll investigate with the carrier and reship)

To request a replacement, email hello@insidecali.com with:

  1. Your order number (e.g., #1234)
  2. A clear photo of the issue
  3. A short description of what's wrong

We review every claim personally and usually reply within 24 hours on business days. Approved replacements are shipped free — you don't need to mail anything back.

What does not qualify

We can't process returns or refunds for:

  • Wrong size ordered — please use the size chart on each product page before ordering
  • Change of mind — made-to-order means we can't put the item back in inventory
  • Color slightly different than your screen — monitors and phones render colors differently; this is normal
  • Requests made more than 30 days after delivery
  • Digital products (guides, PDFs) — see separate section below
  • Packages marked "Delivered" by the carrier but not received — if your tracking shows delivered, please check with neighbors, building mailroom, or your local post office first

Digital products (guides & PDFs)

Because digital guides are delivered instantly and cannot be "returned," all digital product sales are final. No refunds or exchanges on PDF guides.

Please read the product description carefully before purchasing. If you have a specific question about what's covered in a guide, email us first at hello@insidecali.com and we'll answer honestly.

Cancellations

If your order has not entered production yet, we can cancel it and refund you in full. Email hello@insidecali.com within 4 hours of ordering with your order number and the subject line CANCEL [order #]. After your order is at the printer, we can no longer cancel it.

Refund processing

Approved refunds are issued to your original payment method. You'll see the money back in 5–10 business days depending on your bank. We issue refunds in USD only.

Lost packages

If your tracking hasn't updated in 10+ business days, or if your package is marked delivered but didn't arrive, email us at hello@insidecali.com with your order number. We'll investigate with the carrier and, if the package is genuinely lost, we'll reship a replacement or refund your order.

Shipping zones

We currently ship to the United States only (including Alaska, Hawaii, APO/FPO/DPO addresses). International shipping is not yet available. If you are outside the US and receive an order, it was shipped by a third party and this policy may not apply — contact us if there's an issue.
